Sportsbettting.ag has released its latest odds on the 2025 winner of the Southeastern Conference football championship.
The team that wins the SEC Championship game on the first Saturday in December at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta gets the trophy. It is likely even with the changes to the seeding structure that the champion of this league will receive a bye into the College Football Playoff quarterfinals and head to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

Happy Memorial Day from College Football Forever

NOTES
The first three make sense.
-It’s a safe bet that most of the preseason predictions for the final standings of the 16-team, one-division league will align with the top three of Texas, Georgia and Alabama.
The three schools with Tiger mascots are very interesting.
-A good play amongst the favorites- LSU at +900. The Tigers have a great incoming portal class on paper and helped themselves in the areas they were talent-deficient in 2024, when they finished 9-4.
-Auburn could also be a good play. Hugh Freeze has added to his roster and the Tigers feel they have their quarterback in Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold.
-Same with Missouri- look at the schedule and the personnel on the defensive front.
A longshot that may be worth it.
-Mississippi State has almost 60 new players this season, so although most are going to have the Bulldogs picked where they finished 2024, dead last and winless in the SEC, who really knows? Head coach Jeff Lebby could either build something back quickly in Starkville or become the Bulldogs’ version of Chad Morris at Arkansas. It’s a mystery, but with those types of odds you could hit big if it all comes together. Don’t bet too much, though.
Odds are it’s one of six teams.
Texas played in Atlanta last season, its first as a member of the SEC, and has a favorable conference schedule again this season. If the Longhorns win it, they will become the first school that isn’t one of the “big six” of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee to win it since Ole Miss did in 1963. Kentucky tied for the title in 1976. No team outside of those six has won the SEC Championship Game ever. Texas joined Arkansas, Mississippi State, Missouri and South Carolina as one of five member schools outside of the big six to play in the SEC Championship game. The Razorbacks won the SEC West three times, Mizzou won the SEC east twice and the Bulldogs and Gamecocks each won the west and the east once each.
