Top Five Quarterbacks from Jordon Rodgers

Jordon Rodgers of the SEC Network, who played quarterback at Vanderbilt, recently amended his top five quarterbacks for the 2025 college football season in an interview with Crain and Company.

These lists are a dime a dozen until the games kick, but one thing is certain with any of the lists, there will be plenty of representation from the Southeastern Conference as it is a loaded a deep year at the position around the league.

Rodgers amended a previous list during the interview. Here are his top five

1- Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
2- Cade Klubnik, Clemson
3- DJ Lagway, Florida
4- Drew Allar, Penn State
5- John Mateer, Oklahoma

He replaced South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers with Mateer on his list. After reviewing more film of the Washington State transfer, Rodgers said he “fell in love” with him and moved him up ahead of Sellers.

So if you take Rodgers’ word for it, the college football universe will get the opportunity to see the top two quarterbacks in the country square off as LSU travels to Clemson top open the season at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30 (ABC). The two programs share more than elite quarterbacks. Both mascots are the Tigers and both lay claim to the stadium moniker “Death Valley”. It should be a heck of an opener.

Lagway and the Gators open with Long Island. Mateer’s Sooners play Illinois State at home. Allar and the Nittany Lions begin a season with high expectations by hosting Nevada.
