Georgia beat writer Jonathan Williams of Bulldogs on SI joins SEC Sunday Night to give a complete preview of the 2025 version of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Under head coach Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs have risen to be perhaps the top overall program in the country with National Championships in 2021 and 2022 and another SEC Championship and trip to the College Football Playoff last season in what could have been Smart’s best coaching job.
As hyped as Texas was for getting to the semifinals last season, the reality is Georgia, by far the best team the Longhorns played during their first year in the SEC until they lost to Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, beat Texas twice and neither game was in Sanford Stadium where UGA has not lost a game since 2019.
Expectations are again high in Athens in 2025. Georgia will have a younger team this year and added some new pieces from the recruiting trail (traditional) and the transfer portal. Gunner Stockton takes over at quarterback. Those same Texas Longhorns come to Athens to play this season and the Bulldogs also host Ole Miss and Alabama.
